ICT training program project of ASCCA was selected by the Korean government

According to the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) announcement for 2020 on the submission of project proposals for trainings in the field of human resource development of Azerbaijani government agencies in 2021, project proposals submitted by Azerbaijani government agencies to KOICA were evaluated in 2021, and the selection of project proposals was carried out by the Korean government.

The training program "Customs ICTs Capacity Enhancement for Azerbaijan" developed by the Academy of the State Customs Committee (ASCCA) in December 2020 on the basis of the KOICA announcement, successfully passed all selection stages implemented by the Korean government and KOICA.

The main objectives of the project are to acquire and benefit from Korea's experience in the application of information and communication technologies in the field of customs, digital skills in customs training, capacity building, and professional development of customs officers. The implementation period of the program covers 2022-2024. Within the framework of this 3-year project, a total of 60 customs officers, 20 people per year will participate in trainings, seminars, lectures, and consultation sessions on various topics in Korea and Azerbaijan, both in face-to-face and virtual formats.

Within the framework of KOICA training program, it is planned to study the advanced knowledge in using ICT in various areas of the Korean Customs Service, and customs training models and to increase the awareness of the application of ICT in these trainings, as well as the development of various action plans in using information and communication technologies in the field of customs in Azerbaijan on the basis of the Korean experience. This project will also promote the development of effective business relations between the Azerbaijan and Korean Customs Services, the expansion of bilateral cooperation in customs training between Azerbaijani and Korean customs training bodies, and also encourage the further development of skills, knowledge, and abilities related to the application of ICT in the Customs offices of Azerbaijan. 

The training project, funded by the Korean government and serving national priorities, will also contribute to the successful public policy in Azerbaijan regarding the development of e-government and the transition to digital government.
